Visual Journalist and Documentary Filmmaker
Cecilia Fasciani (1995) is a freelance journalist and documentary filmmaker, working in the world of independent cinema as well as visual and investigative reportage. She has been collaborating with the production company SMK Factory since 2020. She has carried out field reportage work in Italy and abroad for various national newspapers (Internazionale, RSI, QCode, FQ MillenniuM). She is the winner of the Best of a Novel 2022 pitch of the Italian Literature Festival. Depending on the projects she is involved in directing, writing, and camera operator (I’m still here, I promise, My body my choice, The longest walk, Broken halos), and the films she has participated in have been selected for numerous national and international festivals and awards. She currently lives in Bologna where he completed her Master’s degree in History and Global Cultures. She studied photography in schools between Bologna and London in parallel with her university studies. She then went on to study the art of documentary filmmaking at the London Film Academy, creative and non-fiction writing at the Bottega Finzioni school (one of the first narrative foundations in Italy) as well as cinematography at the Diaframma Film Academy.
